If the feed fails Open the feed URL in a browser. You should see XML, not a login page. If the site moved to a new domain, update the URL. If the feed is empty, fall back to the public section page or drop the source. When to prefer a page instead Some modern sites no longer maintain feeds, or the feed lags the page. If the page is public and updates, use the page. Do not keep both if they duplicate every item.

Unauthorised access is not supported and can get the source disconnected. Public versus private Public: anyone can join or preview. Add it like any other source. When a channel goes silent The channel may have changed username, become private, or stopped posting. Open it in Telegram. If you cannot see it without an invite you do not have, remove it from the monitor.

Discovery can suggest sources when you create a monitor. Treat that list as a draft. You are responsible for what stays attached. To change sources: Open the monitor. Add a public URL, feed or supported social source. Remove anything irrelevant or broken. Save and check the next run. If you are at the cap (10 / 25 / 50), remove a quiet source before adding another. Hygiene Review sources monthly, or sooner if noise jumps. One monitor, one topic — do not mix copper mines and a consumer brand. When a site redesigns, update the URL instead of leaving a 404 in the list.

What if a source stops returning results?

Sources rot. Domains change, paywalls harden, channels go private. A quiet source is usually one of those, not a hidden SentryDock outage. Work through this list: Open the source URL in a private browser window. If you hit a login, paywall or “enable JavaScript” wall that never finishes, the source is no longer usable — remove it. If the page redirected to a new URL, add the new one and drop the old one. If the page loads publicly and still never appears in runs, note the monitor name and URL and email support@sentrydock.com. Do not Paste passwords or session cookies into support email. Leave broken sources in place “in case they come back” — they occupy the cap. Assume a quiet news week is a broken source; check other sources on the same monitor first.
