How do I monitor local news?

Add the outlet that actually covers the asset. A national homepage will bury the story; a city paper’s business or news section will not.
How to pick outlets
- Search for the last three times the asset made local news and note which paper wrote it.
- Prefer the outlet’s public article list or RSS.
- Keep language in mind: SentryDock can translate 95+ languages, so a Spanish or Portuguese local paper is usable.
Limits
Some local sites block automation or sit behind a hard paywall. If a source never returns items, replace it. Local coverage is also uneven — not every plant has a paper. Combine local news with a relevant Telegram channel or government page when the paper is thin.
