What are morning and evening briefings?

A briefing is a newsletter-style email built from your own monitor results — and, when similar public monitors exist, extra public context folded in without labelling it as someone else’s feed. You still verify originals. Morning briefings cover roughly 18:00 the previous day to 06:00. Evening briefings cover 06:00 to 18:00. Both use your profile timezone. They are off by default; you turn each one on separately. What you will see A subject line and a short preview. Sections organised by monitor, with links to originals and to the item in SentryDock. Nothing, if fewer than two relevant items appeared in the period — the email is skipped on purpose. What briefings are not They are not a replacement for realtime alerts. If you need to know in minutes, use a realtime monitor and a destination you actually see. Briefings are for catching up twice a day.

How do I turn briefings on or off?

Briefings are opt-in. A new account will not receive them until you enable morning, evening, or both. You also need a Pro plan or an active trial; free or lapsed access will see an upgrade prompt instead of working toggles. To enable briefings: Sign in and open your profile or settings. Open the Briefing section. Turn on Morning, Evening, or both. Confirm your timezone is correct on the profile — briefs fire at 6:00 and 18:00 in that zone. Wait until the next window. The scheduler checks every 15 minutes and will not send twice within 12 hours for the same type. Turning them off Use the same toggles. There is no separate unsubscribe page required for this product setting, though standard email unsubscribe headers still apply to the messages themselves.

What timezone do briefings use?

The 6:00 and 18:00 times are in your saved timezone. If the profile still says UTC and you live in New York, the email will not arrive at 6:00 Eastern. Set the timezone first, then wait for the next window. The scheduler looks every 15 minutes and sends when you are within about 30 minutes of 6:00 or 18:00 local time. You should not see more than a quarter-hour of drift in normal operation. Travel and DST If you travel, update the timezone or expect emails at the old local time. Daylight-saving changes follow the zone you picked, not a fixed UTC clock. A 12-hour minimum gap prevents a morning and a “late morning” duplicate of the same type.

Why did a briefing not arrive?

Skipped briefings are common and usually correct. The product will not send a thin newsletter to meet a clock. It will not send when Morning or evening is still off (the default). The account is not on Pro or an active trial. Fewer than two relevant items (including allowed network context) appeared in the period. A briefing of the same type already sent in the last 12 hours. The account is inactive. It should have sent Confirm timezone, the toggle, and that two results exist on your monitors for that window. Check spam. Then email support@sentrydock.com with the date, morning vs evening, and your timezone. Do not send passwords.
