How do I reduce noisy alerts?
Noise is almost always a brief or source problem, not a delivery problem. If Slack is loud, the monitor is loud. Fix the monitor first.
The usual fixes
- Rewrite the instruction with exclusions.
- Remove homepage-level news sources; keep specialist outlets.
- Move the monitor from realtime to hourly or daily.
- Split two topics into two monitors so each brief can be strict.
- Keep SMS and browser notifications for one or two monitors only.
After you change it
Judge the next dozen results, not the next one. A single quiet afternoon is not proof. If noise remains, the source list is still too general.
