What is a realtime monitor slot?
A realtime slot is a scarce resource: one monitor that is allowed to check on a minutes-level cadence. Hourly and daily monitors are unlimited and never consume a slot.
If you try to create an extra realtime monitor on Starter, you will be asked to convert an existing one, pause one, or upgrade. That is the cap working as designed.
Spending slots well
- Named officials or channels that have moved a price in-session.
- A single plant or mine where an outage wire matters immediately.
- Not: a general “oil news” brief that can wait an hour.
Freeing a slot
Pause or switch the quiet realtime monitor to hourly. You keep the brief. You get the slot back. Upgrade only when several subjects truly need minutes.
