Source-linked market briefings with an AI agent

By Blake Folgado · Updated 2026-10-03

A useful briefing gives the desk a small number of material developments and the evidence to check them. Define the market, time window and questions before searching. Preserve local original sources when a story crosses languages.

The agent writes the note from tool results. SentryDock provides indexed news and your alert history; neither an AI summary nor an empty search establishes that a market moved for a particular reason.

The workflow

  1. Read account access, then decide whether you need indexed news, your own alerts or both.
  2. Search the topic with news.search; read news.mine and alerts.list for your monitored coverage.
  3. Group duplicate reports by event and retain original URLs and available publication times.
  4. Write the note with reported facts, interpretation and gaps clearly separated.

Example energy briefing prompt

“Prepare a European gas note from the last 24 hours. Cover LNG terminal outages, storage policy and export restrictions. Group by event, retain original-language source titles and links, and separate enacted policy from proposals. State where the indexed coverage is insufficient.”

A note the desk can use

  • Lead: the material developments within the requested window.
  • Evidence table: event, location, source, publication time and original URL.
  • Interpretation: explain the possible relevance separately from reported facts.
  • Open questions: conflicts, unverified claims and missing source coverage.

Move from a note to a recurring watch

If the same question matters tomorrow, review a market monitor with explicit source and relevance rules. SentryDock can continue monitoring independently of the assistant. Use your configured briefing settings for account delivery; the chat itself is not an always-running news subscription.
