Company monitoring with an AI agent

A company watch should answer what changed, which business it affects and where the evidence came from. Give the agent the exact companies, subsidiaries and markets you cover. Similar company names and reused product names are a reason to narrow the instructions, not add more unsourced alerts.
Start with one-off research, then turn the useful coverage into a monitor. The monitor runs in SentryDock after the conversation ends.
The workflow
- Connect your agent and read account.overview and monitors.list.
- Search news.search for the named company over a defined window and check the original URLs.
- Review a monitor proposal with company identity, sources, materiality rules, cadence and destination.
- Authorise creation, read the saved monitor, then inspect a run and its output.

“Search the last 72 hours for the companies and newsroom URLs I provide. Include earnings announcements, material regulatory actions and operational disruptions. Exclude repeated opinion pieces. Return company, event, source URL and date. Then propose an hourly monitor for this coverage; show the proposal before saving.”
Input and output
- Input: exact company names, aliases, official newsroom URLs, regions and an explicit time window.
- Research output: a dated source table grouped by company, with conflicts and coverage gaps.
- Monitor proposal: title, prompt, explicit source list, supported cadence and the existing delivery destination.
- Saved output: monitor ID and persisted schedule; run result and delivery evidence checked separately.
Review materiality
Ask the agent to distinguish an announcement, an allegation and a completed action. Keep source dates beside each event so yesterday’s article does not become a new signal just because it was found today. Do not treat a missing indexed result as a clean bill of health.
Keep coverage useful over time
Review noisy alerts and missing sources with the agent. Change only the named monitor after reviewing the revised rules. Pausing the chat does not pause the monitor; pausing the monitor stops future scheduled work.
