The short answer
Talkwalker Alerts is a free, email-and-RSS mention tool that Talkwalker markets as a Google Alerts alternative. It covers news, blogs, forums and Twitter/X, with Boolean queries, 22 languages, “as it happens” frequency, Slack, and RSS into a reader such as Feedly. SentryDock starts at $30/month and is a different product: configured public sources, a relevance brief, translation on the alert path, and delivery to email, SMS, Slack, Teams or Discord. Stay on Talkwalker Alerts (or Google Alerts) for brand and keyword vanity monitoring. Buy SentryDock when you need named sources, market context and channels a free mention email does not monitor. Talkwalker’s paid social-listening suite is a third product, sold by demo, for brand teams.
That is a strong free Google Alerts rival for comms and SEO. It is still keyword matching over Talkwalker’s web and Twitter index, delivered as email or a feed. It is not a monitor of a chosen Telegram channel, a Truth Social account, or a government PDF that never becomes a “mention.”
Talkwalker also sells enterprise social listening (187 languages, 150 million websites, full Twitter firehose, visual listening). That suite is demo-gated and built for brand reputation, not a $30 trading brief. This page is about the free Alerts product people actually search for.
How we ranked these tools
Talkwalker Alerts features are taken from talkwalker.com/alerts. Paid listening claims are from talkwalker.com/social-listening. Both checked 13 September 2026. Talkwalker Alerts is free; the paid suite has no public list price on those pages. SentryDock prices are the live published plans.
We do not treat Talkwalker’s “as it happens” wording as a measured speed benchmark against SentryDock. Frequency is a setting; arrival still depends on discovery and delivery.

What Talkwalker Alerts actually is
Talkwalker’s alerts page calls the product the best free, easy alternative to Google Alerts and claims 600,000+ users. Setup does not require a Google account. You can filter by source type, use Boolean operators, and pipe RSS into Feedly. That combination is why “Talkwalker Alerts” is a real search, not a footnote on Meltwater.
The same company then upsells Social Listening: historical data, sentiment, podcasts and reviews, command centers, full Twitter firehose. If you need that, you are buying an enterprise brand suite. SentryDock is not competing for that RFP.
Where Talkwalker Alerts is the better choice
- The budget is zero and you want web plus Twitter mention email, with optional RSS and Slack.
- You are doing brand, competitor, job-search or SEO mention tracking, which is what Talkwalker’s own use-case list describes.
- Boolean plus “only the best results” is enough filtering and you do not need a trading brief.
- You already live in Feedly and just wanted a better Google Alerts RSS source. Talkwalker documents that path.
Where SentryDock is the better choice
- You need Telegram, Reddit, Truth Social or a specific government/news site, not a web-mention index.
- Keyword alerts flood you and you can write exclusions in plain language.
- You need SMS or Teams, summaries and market-impact context, not only a mention email.
- Minutes matter on a defined market event, not a daily brand digest.
Price, stated plainly
Talkwalker Alerts is free. Talkwalker Social Listening is sold via demo; those pages do not publish a list price as of 13 September 2026.
SentryDock Starter is $30/month, Pro $100/month, Ultra $300/month. Do not pay that to replace a free brand-mention email if that email is doing the job.
