SentryDock vs Dataminr

SentryDock vs Dataminr: trader monitors vs enterprise event detection

Dataminr’s First Alert page describes autonomous real-time intelligence over more than a million public data sources, synthesizing text in 150 languages plus image, video, audio and sensor signals, at a stated volume of over 43TB per day. The same page is explicit about the buyer: government customers, with deployment via web, mobile, email and APIs.

The short answer

Dataminr is the reference enterprise product for real-time event, threat and risk detection. First Alert is positioned for government and defense customers; Dataminr for Corporate Security (the Pulse line) is positioned for corporate security teams protecting people and assets. Dataminr publishes no list price. SentryDock is not a Dataminr clone. It is a self-serve monitor for traders and analysts: you describe a topic, it watches selected public news and social sources, and it alerts from $30/month. Buy Dataminr if you are outfitting a SOC, newsroom or government watch floor and can run enterprise procurement. Buy SentryDock if you need topic-level market monitoring as an individual or a small desk. SentryDock does not claim to beat Dataminr’s event-detection latency at institutional scale.

The Pulse URL on Dataminr’s site now presents Dataminr for Corporate Security: early detection for people, facilities and operations, integrated with physical-security and crisis platforms. That is a security workflow, not a commodity-news brief.

SentryDock watches public sources against a trading or research brief. It does not ingest the deep/dark web, sensor networks, or a decade of proprietary event archives. It will not replace Dataminr on a protective-intelligence floor.

How we ranked these tools

We compared buyer, workflow and price transparency. Dataminr product claims are taken from dataminr.com/products/first-alert/ and dataminr.com/products/pulse/ as of 13 September 2026. Neither page publishes a price. SentryDock prices are the live published plans.

We do not estimate Dataminr contract value. We also do not claim SentryDock detects breaking events “before Dataminr.” Those are different products and Dataminr’s stated job is earlier event discovery at a scale SentryDock does not sell.

What Dataminr actually sells

First Alert Advanced is described as agentic real-time intelligence: corroboration, live briefs, context from a 10+ year event archive, and predictive evolutions of unfolding events. Dataminr states it operates 60+ specialized LLMs and a large in-house AI team. That is mission-critical alerting for organizations that already have a watch floor.

Corporate Security is the same detection engine aimed at employee safety, sites and operational disruption. If your RFP says “indications and warning,” you are in Dataminr’s market. If your brief says “Indonesian nickel export policy,” you are in SentryDock’s.

Where Dataminr is the better choice

  • You need breaking-event detection for physical security, government or a global newsroom, at any unpublished price the contract clears.
  • You need APIs into command-and-control, GIS or critical-event platforms, as Dataminr documents for First Alert and Corporate Security.
  • You need Dataminr’s stated multi-modal firehose (sensors, imagery, 150 languages at that scale). SentryDock does not sell that.
  • You need a vendor with Dataminr’s institutional track record. SentryDock was founded in 2024.

Where SentryDock is the better choice

  • You are one person or a small desk. Dataminr does not publish a self-serve tier.
  • You want ongoing topic monitoring with a relevance brief, summaries and daily briefings, not a SOC event queue.
  • You want published pricing from $30/month and delivery into Slack or SMS the same day you sign up.
  • You specifically need Trump Truth Social posts or named Telegram channels in a trading workflow. Dataminr may ingest public social as event signal; it is not sold as a $30 Trump-alert product.

Price, stated plainly

Dataminr has no public list price on the First Alert or Corporate Security pages as of 13 September 2026. Contact Dataminr sales.

SentryDock Starter is $30/month, Pro $100/month, Ultra $300/month. That gap is the whole comparison for an individual buyer. It is not a claim that SentryDock is “Dataminr for $30.”

No such claim is made here. Dataminr’s product pages emphasize earliest event detection at institutional scale. SentryDock’s real-time monitors are designed to alert within seconds of publication on the sources they watch. Different firehoses, different buyers.
Dataminr describes ingesting public social and alternative sources among 1M+ public data sources. That is event detection for security and government buyers. SentryDock treats selected Truth Social, Telegram, X and Reddit accounts as first-class sources on a trading brief, at individual prices.
They are related Dataminr products for different buyers. First Alert is documented for government real-time intelligence. The Pulse URL currently presents Dataminr for Corporate Security. Neither is a self-serve trader monitor.
